2 Active Notices
Tue 10:00 AM → Wed 12:00 AM AKDT
IMPACTS
Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will come with frequent lightning and outflow boundaries. Any lightning can cause new ignitions since the fuels are dry and burnable.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
There is still a question for how far north scattered thunderstorms will travel Wednesday, potentially as far north as the North Slope. Stay tuned as we watch how storms play out Tuesday.
Recommendations
A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to the public. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning. A Fire Weather Watch means that weather conditions could lead to the potential for a Red Flag event in the near future. This watch will remain in effect until it is upgraded to a Red Flag Warning or that it is determined that the Red Flag event will not develop. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Fire Weather Watch.
