WHAT
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
WHERE
A portion of eastern North Carolina, including the following areas, Beaufort, Duplin, Greene, Inland Onslow, Jones, Lenoir, Northern Craven, Pamlico, Pitt and Southern Craven.
WHEN
Through Saturday morning.
IMPACTS
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
- A stalled front will interact with an anomalously moist airmass, supporting areas of intense rainfall rates as high as 2-3"/hr. These rates will support a risk of flooding and flash flooding, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Additional rainfall of 1-2" with locally higher amounts will be possible within the watch area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
Recommendations
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
